Brelian: A Stylish Font for Modern Campaigns

It was a Thursday morning, and I was finalizing the visuals for an online course launch. The client wanted something fresh, inviting, and professional—something that would stand out on social feeds without feeling too flashy. That’s when I landed on Brelian, a handwritten typeface from Script Amp that instantly felt right. It had the right balance of elegance and approachability, perfect for a digital product aimed at creative professionals.

What Is Brelian?

Brelian is a stylish and fresh handwritten typeface that exudes elegance and charm. With its flowing strokes and contemporary vibe, it adds a touch of sophistication to any design project. As a script font, it carries a personal, almost human feel, making it ideal for brand storytelling and visual communication that feels authentic.

The personality of Brelian is warm and inviting. It’s not overly ornate like some script fonts, which can be hard to read in smaller sizes or on mobile screens. Instead, it has a clean, modern edge that makes it versatile across different campaign formats—from Instagram posts to YouTube thumbnails.

Using Brelian in Real Campaigns

I first used Brelian as the headline for a teaser graphic promoting the online course. The text read “Unlock Your Creativity,” and the font gave it just the right amount of flair without overshadowing the message. It worked well against both light and dark backgrounds, which was important since the same asset needed to be used across multiple platforms.

Next, I tested it in a series of Instagram posts. Each post featured a different quote related to creativity and learning. Using Brelian for the main text helped create a consistent look across the feed while keeping the content engaging and visually cohesive. The font’s soft curves and subtle variations in stroke width made each post feel unique yet unified.

For YouTube thumbnails, I paired Brelian with a clean sans serif font for the supporting text. This combination allowed the headline to stand out while ensuring readability on small screens. The contrast between the two fonts created a strong visual hierarchy, guiding the viewer’s eye directly to the main message.

Readability and Design Best Practices

One of the things I appreciated about Brelian was how well it performed on mobile devices. While many script fonts can become illegible in small sizes, Brelian maintained its clarity even when scaled down. This made it a great choice for fast-scrolling feeds and thumbnail previews where first impressions matter most.

When using Brelian, I recommend pairing it with a complementary sans serif font for body text or secondary messaging. This ensures that the design remains legible while still maintaining the elegant tone that Brelian brings to the table. For example, using a font like Montserrat or Open Sans alongside Brelian can help balance the overall look of a design.

Another consideration is the background color. Brelian works best on neutral tones or solid colors that don’t compete with the intricate details of the script. Avoid using it on busy or patterned backgrounds, as this can reduce readability and distract from the message.

Where Brelian Shines and Where It May Fall Short

Brelian excels in short headlines, callouts, and decorative titles. It’s particularly effective for campaigns that aim to evoke emotion, such as seasonal sales, product teasers, or branded content that tells a story. However, it may not be the best choice for long-form copy, dense information, or formal corporate communication. In those cases, a more structured typeface would be more appropriate.

For instance, if you're designing a landing page with a lot of text, it's better to use Brelian sparingly—perhaps for the headline or a key tagline. This way, the font enhances the design without overwhelming the reader.

Before using Brelian in your campaigns, make sure to check the included styles, alternates, ligatures, weights, file formats, multilingual support, and commercial font licensing. These factors are crucial when incorporating a font into ads, templates, merchandise, or client campaigns.

Overall, Brelian is a versatile and stylish typeface that can elevate your promotional visuals. Whether you're launching a new product, creating a content series, or building a brand identity, this font offers a fresh and elegant solution that resonates with modern audiences.
